STORY OF AN HOUR

Story of an Hour to me was very interesting, I thought Kate Chopin used a great sense of writing. She used an ironic theme that had most readers expecting what was going to happen next. Kate Chopin's story of an hour had a theme about a woman who thought her husband had died in a tragic train accident, but when she found out later her husband walked through the door and she died of an heart attack. This story exemplifies how a woman yearns for freedom that she didn't have being married to her husband. When she thought her husband died she thought she had the freedom she yearned, but as the story progressed her freedom had died and so did she.

Merita...I find interesting how this writing was considered so taboo at the time. Just think of all the opportunities women have today. My grandmother always said she would have loved to have the oppurtunites that I have...She would have liked to have been a journalist but she was rejected

Well in prior days they didnt have many opportunities as we have today, their opportunities were restricted they only did a few things, but our generation has accomplished much more than the have, we have more opportunities than they did back in those days, we shouldn't take things for granted and we should take advantage of every opportunity that knocks on our door.

This story is one of my favorites. In the end it was pretty interesting, how much she cried for her freedom at last. I couldn't believe he was alive either, it's understandable why she dies. She had waited so long for her freedom, and for it to be taken away again?
